Meet our award-winning instructors
Jane McMahon
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin Madison and Viterbo University, Jane has over 25 years of middle and high school English teaching experience. As well as being a Kohl Fellowship recipient, Jane also had the great honor to serve as the 2014 Wisconsin Teacher of the Year.
She is currently the Wisconsin State Spelling Bee Coordinator and an adjunct professor at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater.
Natalie Disney
Natalie Disney earned her MFA in creative writing from Boise State University where she served as Associate Editor of The Idaho Review. Her work has been published in The Florida Review and The Mississippi Review and has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and the PEN America Short Story Prize for Emerging Writers.
She teaches creative writing at BSU and The Cabin Center for Readers and Writers. The 2023 Boise City Writer-in-Residence, Natalie is currently working on her first novel.
Christina Beam
A graduate of Vassar College and the University of North Dakota, Christina is a writer and photographer with 15 years of experience in reporting, marketing, and education communications.
Most recently, as the chief storyteller and Director of Communications at New Hanover County Schools in North Carolina, Christina was awarded North Carolina School Public Relations Association’s “Best of the Best” writing award for the third year in a row.
